Happy Birthday, Allison!

On October 17, 2010, our little Allie-Boo turned two! I still can't believe that the light of my life is progressing from sweet baby to a little lady.  I truly cannot remember life without her and each day truly gets better.  She makes me smile more than anything or anyone ever could.  I am so incredibly thankful for God's gift of Allison to Nick and me.  We are so incredibly blessed.

As most you all know, we did a party for Allison's first birthday.  You can read about it here.  Well this year, we did the opposite.  We had a family day. Nick and I flew in from Vegas the day before.  We were fortunate enough to have my parents (Cici and Poppy) here to keep Allison.  We wanted to be able to celebrate with them and enjoy every moment the special day had to offer.  The night we flew in, I baked cupcakes.  Allison is obsessed with "birthday cake!" She talks about it all the time!  She was so happy that HER birthday cakes were baking!

The morning of her special day, we decided to head to the big city of Amarillo! We took a few pictures before we left for the day!

We didn't plan ahead on what we would give Allison for her birthday. We decided we would take her to Toys R' Us and let her explore.  We would take our cues from her. Of course, she LOVED all of the cars, in particular this police car!  We decided we would go think about it over lunch.

Well, where can a kid be a kid?  Chuck E. Cheese of course!  Allison LOVED it!  She was fascinated by every bit of that place!

Daddy LOVED it too!  He was still in a Vegas mindset!

Luckily, at two years old, Allison could have cared less about eating at Chuck E. Cheese.  That is a great thing!  We played and played and then headed to Olive Garden.  We finally went back to "the dealership" to purchase her first car.  She was so excited!  After doing so, we headed back to Borger for her cake!  Allison loves singing "Happy Birthday!"  She knows the words and knew to blow out her candle!  Smart girl!

After we finished cake, sweet Nick headed to the garage to assemble Allison's new car.  The next morning she woke up asking for her car!  Well, here she is...I don't think she could be any more proud!

Sweet Allison, you have no idea how much joy you have brought to your daddy and I over the past two years.  Every single day gets better.  My favorite moment of the day is when I get you from your crib and you say, "Good morning, mommy."  You absolutely make us melt.  Here are some special things you are doing at two years old...

*You love to go, go, go!  You wake up every morning ready to "Go bye in the car!"  I don't always know where you want to go, but you just want to go! You are certainly not a homebody!
*Your favorite game is dress up.  You come out of your room with all sorts of different outfits on and you are so proud of yourself!
*You LOVE purses and shoes! You have a couple pairs of shoes that you call "princess shoes," those are your favorite.  You also love to put tutus on!
*You love to count.  You are constantly counting.  Very often you sing the Feist "1,2,3,4" song to me.
*You love Margo. If she's not in the room, you ask, "Where did Margo go?"  You both play so well together.
*Your favorite food is pancakes. I think you might turn into a pancake.  You also love fruit, goldfish and cheese.  You love Jelly Belly jelly beans which you call "medicines."  You also love suckers.  You call them "sucker bubbles."
*You are still a champ and run with me in your BOB almost daily. You are my best running buddy.  Thanks for training with me again.
*You love school!  You walk right in and are so excited to see "the kids!"
*You refuse to eat all meat except for McDonald's chicken nuggets.  You love "Donald's!"  It's your favorite place!
*You love talking on the phone.  You love Cici and Poppy so much and you love to call them!
*You can still wear 18-24 month clothes, but you can also still wear size 2T.
*You still love Elmo.  You also love Dora, Olivia and "hot dog" aka Mickey Mouse.
*You are starting to get into princesses.
*You take one long nap during the day.
*You love to be read to.  Right now your favorites are The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Goodnight Moon.
*You are not scared of much, but you are scared of elephants and sometimes choo choo trains.
*You love your baby dolls and you take such good care of them.
*You like to color.
*You like dinosaurs.
*You love the moon, sun and stars.  You ask during the day, "Where did the moon go?"
*You say "thank you" like a champ!
*You are super social and talk to everyone. You love kids and adults.
*You absolutely adore stickers.
*You are super interested in airplanes.  Every plane that goes by is "Daddy's plane!"
*You are 33 and 1/4 inches tall (fiftieth percentile) and you weigh 25.7 pounds (twenty fifth percentile).
*You smile constantly.
*You love to brush your teeth and wash your hands.
*You tell us that you love us.

Happy, happy birthday sweet Allison!  We absolutely adore you!  You are our everything!
