Halloween: A Spencer Family Tradition

We love Halloween in our house.  It is perhaps one of our favorite days of the year.  We like to do it big!  You can read about our past Halloweens here , herehere and here. As you can see, we look forward to it every year.  In fact our little Allison was due on Halloween!  We called her "Baby Boo" throughout pregnancy.  Luckily she decided to make her debut a couple of weeks early.
Halloween started on a Wednesday this year.  Allison's story time had a costume party.  Allison wore a ladybug costume.  This little ladybug was difficult to catch a good picture of though!

Her friends, Brooklyn and Brayden, were precious as Batgirl and Batman.  Allison was a little scared of Batman with his mask on though!
Friday night was the annual Borger Country Club Halloween party.  It is an absolute blast every year!  We love it!  Nick and I always try to come up with creative costumes.  We struggled with it a bit this year, so we went for something easy.  We were a gold digger and a sugar daddy!  Nick bought his suite at the thrift store years ago and has been dying to wear it.  This gave him a chance to do so!
Check out some of our other friends!  They are too creative!

My personal favorites...Curt and Jenny as Snookie and The Situation from The Jersey Shore.  They were quite awesome!
As Curt said, "Guys in drag always win costume contests."  So true, Curt, so true!  We also had Hannah and Greg as "Dog the Bounty Hunter" and "Beth."
Sandy and Krista as a plug and socket.
Shad and Shaynna as Chilean Miner #21 and his mistress!
Steve and Sheryl as Amy Winehouse and her ex-husband, Blake.
Todd and Peggy as the bee keeper and his honey bee.
When we were in Vegas, we saw these silver street performers...
Well, ladies and gentlemen, meet the overall best costume winners (third year in a row), James and Susan!
As always it was a great time filled with lots of dancing and laughter!
Check out some of the blue lips.  The Country Club decided Jell-o shots would be a great addition to the party!
The Gold digger and the Chilean Miner's girlfriend could not get too crazy; Shaynna and I ran 12 miles the next morning.  Dedication or just plain crazy? You decide.  However, we had a wonderful time and can't wait for next year's party!

We celebrated actual Halloween with the cutest little giraffe EVER!  Look at Allison!  I love it!
Of course we took some family pictures with our precious little girl!

We took Allison trick-or-treating at some of our neighbor's houses.  She got the concept down really quickly.  I can only imagine what her little mind was thinking, "So I ring the door bell, say trick-or-treat, and these people GIVE me candy?  My parents never give me candy!  And these people are just going to give it to me?!  OK!"
It only took one house and after that she was like a veteran!  She knew the drill!

Our sweet friends, Ansley and Payton, always have a fun Halloween party.  We spent the rest of the evening at their house.  We ate a lot of food and watched the kids play.  Allison and I went to a few more houses later in the evening.  Here's a cute picture of some of the kids toward the end of the party. They were pretty tired!
They just made themselves at home in Miss Riley's bed!
It was a wonderful Halloween.  It was so incredible to see it through Allison's eyes.  She was too little last year to participate in much.  That was all different this year!  I know it will only get better!

I love you and Nick's costume. I think is so much more original than the others. The Chilean miner and his mistress was pretty good too. And of course Allison is cute as always!
