The entire reason we traveled down to San Antonio was to see my oldest and dearest "bestie," Cathleen Catlin Clough! Cathleen married Captain Jon Clough on Cinco de Mayo 2007. They have been living in Germany ever since! We were blessed enough to be able to see Cathleen last summer in Bryan, but this would be her first time to meet Allison and the first time we have seen Jon since their wedding!
Cathleen and I met in Bryan when were six years old at Briarcrest Country Club tennis lessons! She has been the best, most wonderful friend ever since! Her family is so kind and sweet! Her sister, Laurel, was getting married at the family ranch in Bandera on April 18. We were lucky enough to be in the lovely hill country for all the festivities.
On Friday, April 17 (Allison's 6 month birthday), we drove to Bandera, also known as "the cowboy capitol of the world." We met Cathleen and Jon at the OST for lunch. Bandera was a happening place, it was biker weekend! Cathleen and Jon are absolutely perfect for one another. He is so funny and consistently "on." He and Nick get along famously and tend to "get in trouble" together! Whenever Jon is around, Nick and I only answer to "Frank" and "Marissa." Right after we got married, Jon decided to call us only "Frank" and "Marissa" after Will Ferrell and Perrey Reeves' characters in "Old School." Yes, Nick and I are so exciting that Jon compares us to the "Home Depot/Bed, Bath and Beyond" couple. However, Nick gets "crazy" sometimes so Jon refers to him as "Frank the Tank."
After lunch we went to the Medina River Ranch http://www.medinariverranchresort.com/ where the wedding party would stay. While there, Nick and Jon found a deer head to play with and figured out how to set the timer on our camera. We felt so blessed that they took time out of their busy day to spend with us! We miss them so much and selfishly can't wait for them to come back to the US.
After our fun day, it was time to get ready for the rehearsal dinner!
